Mikael Sarij, MD, is a board-certified pain management physician and president of Integrated Spine And Pain Care in Farmingdale and Deer Park, New York. Dr. Sarij takes a holistic approach to care and works closely with his patients to design treatment plans that not only relieve their pain but improve their quality of life. He understands the life-changing impact of pain and measures his success by his ability to better the well-being of his patients.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados, Dr. Sarij went on to complete his residency training at New York-Presbyterian/Queens in Flushing, Queens, New York. He completed his fellowship in pain medicine at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Department of Neurology in New York City.
Dr. Sarij then pursued further training alongside world-class physicians at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, as a fellow in interventional pain medicine. During his fellowship training at Harvard, he performed innovative work in the management of pain with minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Sarij’s unique background in both neurological and interventional pain management enables him to treat difficult to manage pain syndromes. He understands that patients want to avoid risky surgeries, and he applies minimally invasive techniques that produce dramatic results with minimal recovery times.
Building on his leadership role within the pain management medical community, Dr. Sarij is a founding member of the New York Pain Society. He also takes special pride in the fact that he was recognized as a “Top Doctor” many years in a row.
Dr. Sarij was raised in New York City and has been practicing on Long Island since 2003. His love for the beautiful shores of Long Island, as well as the community of neighbors, colleagues, family, and friends, keeps him grounded and a proud New Yorker.
